Over 1,000 people got saucy Saturday afternoon at the third annual Kansas Expocentre Wing Fling. The one-day, indoor festival including hot wings from 11 local business, cold drinks, brew from Happy Basset and music by Rickety Downspout, Kansas City Blues Band and Rod Peterson and the Assembly.
The restaurants competed in four titles: Hot, BBQ, Twisted – chosen by a panel of judges and “Wing Fling King” chosen by event patrons, a.k.a. People’s Choice.
Kansas Expocentre’s Exhibition Hall was filled by 2:30p with some vendors running short on wings as early as 3:30p. However, there was still plenty to go around even with record breaking attendance – which almost doubled last year. Between wing eating heats, guests watched sports on the big screen or played party games like cornhole, beer pong and Jenga.
Sponsors included yours truly (seveneightfive), V100 and KSNT.
