Ale brewed for the adventurous Pirate spirit in all of us. For this brew we chose an English heritage barley named Chevallier, first selected for malting while Pirate Jean Lafitte still sailed the Gulf of Mexico. We added jaggery, made from palm sap, for its buttery notes and treacle for its rum-like molasses character. Madagascar vanilla beans and coconut lends to the exotica. If that don’t float your boat, we scored a couple rum barrels to stash some of this booty in, so keep an eye out for that to show up soon.
