LunchHouse a.k.a. Rowhouse Restaurant (for lunch) has teamed up with Shana Cake, downtown Topeka, to offer an allergy-friendly, gluten-free bread option for any of their sandwiches served at lunch. It is just another example of Rowhouse owner Greg Fox and his staff staying initiative and local.
The Rowhouse Restaurant began lunch service November 2017, offering you a fresh take on your mid-meal experience. “Uncommonly Comfortable” is their motto, the restaurant is hip and casual, as usual, but with the luncher’s budget and time constraints in mind. When I experienced lunch at the Row, we were in and out in under 45 minutes. In this short amount of time, I experienced a lunch hour that truly let me escape and get a much-needed break from my day. The food was incomparable in flavor and left me feeling content, fueled and energized, contrary to the “I need to take a nap” feeling I commonly have after dining at sit-down lunch establishments.
The Rowhouse lunch menu offerings include Creamy Tomato Dill Soup (my all-time favorite), their family’s Winter Lake Salad, entree options such as Pork and Mushroom Meatballs and of course, a variety of sandwiches all available with Shana Cake gluten-free bread. I highly recommend the Braised Beef Shortrib sandwich. The green aioli served on the sandwich must provide the original impetus to the term “food porn.”
No matter what you order, everything is “Seasonally driven. Inspired by our roots.” It is the Rowhouse quality which we’ve come to admire and love.
The Rowhouse Restaurant is open for lunch Monday – Friday from 11a to 2p. No reservations required.
